Versatile 6-year-old OTTB Gelding

You will never find another OTTB like him! 

DOVER STRAIT
 is a 2018 OTTB gelding standing 16.3hh. “Carl” was a track winner of over $20,000 and retired sound to our knowledge. He shows extreme talent as a hunter/dressage prospect, but has also been competitive in the ranch arena. He’ll neck rein in a romel, but is just as soft in an O-ring snaffle. Tempoed canter with green lead changes, solid transitions, and more woah than go. He has exceptional rate to the jumps and is scopey even over the small stuff. We recently played around on the cross country course, and he was super brave through the water and over small jumps. Carl has been lightly shown in the senior ranch classes as well and is already +-ing maneuvers after just a few months of professional training. He will throw down on the flag, rope, and has tackled a variety of trail obstacles. At his second show and his first time showing western dressage, Carl marked a 70.77% to take 3rd place in his division and earning a paycheck. Immediately following, he cruised through a beautiful ranch riding pattern to secure his second paycheck and reserve championship in the division. 

Carl has been hauled extensively while in our program He’ll stand tied at the trailer all day. Loads without a problem, leads like a gentleman, stands for the farrier, and is a sucker for peppermints. He does best out in the pasture, and would be best suited for a confident rider as he’s still building confidence himself. 

This guy is so special to us and we love having him in the barn, but we have to make room for more training clients.
